Remembrance day, peace and the law of attraction: How to manifest peace

Sharing is caring!

It will soon be remembrance day across the world and many people’s thoughts turn to remembering honoured loved ones who have sacrificed their lives for the service of others whilst fighting for what they believe to be ‘right’.

I myself visited the grave of a great-uncle who was killed in the first world war last year in France as it was the centenary of his death. My whole family went over to pay our respects to Thomas Woollam and we found his grave, said prayers and laid flowers. We were lucky in that Thomas was buried in a marked grave with his name on it, but I was moved by the endless rows of unmarked graves I saw which were for people whose remains had not been able to be identified, although the names of those who had died were all carved on the memorials surrounding the cemetery. It was truly a humbling experience and one I will never forget. Even the children in our family (who at the time were all under 10) were able to take on board the gravity of the situation and pay their own tributes.

Remembrance day: what should we remember?

As remembrance day comes round every year, we of course should remember those who we know, and those who we didn’t know who have made the ultimate sacrifice in war.  This is right and proper and gives value to them and appreciation of their plight.

There are not many things I abhor since this is a very negative emotion: but war is one of them and I find myself thinking at this time of year about how to rid the world of war and to promote peace.  But how do we do that in terms of the law of attraction?  I would also advocate that we remember peace as much, if not more, than war at this time of year.  Because in the law of attraction, like attracts like and I realise that I cannot rid the world of war whilst ranting and railing against it – all this promotes is a sense of lack of peace within me, and therefore all I will attract is more of this ‘lack of peace‘. There must be a better way to manifest my desire for peace than constantly thinking how terrible war is – and of course there is. I must first turn my negative thoughts into positive ones. I must rid myself of thinking about the things I DON’T want (i.e war) and use these thoughts to think of things I DO want (i.e. peace).

How to promote peace in the world and how to find peace within

To manifest peace, you must be a match for the vibration of peace, not the vibration of “anti-war” – they are not the same thing. One is calm and tranquil; one is full of anger and aggression. Anything you are ‘anti’ has an element of resistance to it, and you cannot attract anything you want whilst you are feeling resistance.

To truly attract peace into your own life (and I highly recommend that you start with your own life before moving on to manifest things for the entire human race), try these few simple steps:

1. Start by thinking what peace feels like for you – take 3 deep breaths and ask yourself “how would I feel if I felt completely peaceful within?” If you find it difficult to find the feeling, think about a time when you felt completely peaceful, perhaps when you woke up one morning with nothing to do; perhaps when you were lying on holiday one time looking up at the sky; perhaps when you held your child and gently rocked them to sleep.

2. Once you have identified a peaceful feeling, magnify it in your mind and allow it to overtake your entire body. Breathe deeply whilst repeating to yourself “I am peace, I appreciate peace, I radiate peace.” Repeat the words over in your head and feel a calm and tranquility overtake your body. Allow this to fill every cell of your body and visualise it swirling around you keeping you safe and protected.

3. Finally, continue to breathe deeply and imagine that you can draw this peaceful energy up from the centre of the ground. Visualise this energy like a ripple on a pond with you as the centre. Breathe in and see and feel yourself drawing the energy from the ground, then when you breathe out, radiate the energy out into the world, as if you were sending a protective bubble across the universe. Send it as far as you want – to encompass your house, your family, your pets, your town, your country or the world. Do this several times and see how you feel. If you can, remember the mantra from step 2, but otherwise just feel the peace and send it forth.

You can do this little exercise as often as you like and you will be setting in motion powerful universal forces that will draw more peace into your life and into the world.

Things to remember

  1. You cannot attract peace whilst thinking about war or railing against war
  2. You must start with your inner thoughts if you want to know how to live in peace
  3. The law of attraction and meditation go hand in hand – thoughts are creative
  4. Focus on what you do want, not what you don’t want
  5. The law of attraction is working, whether you know it or not – better to be a conscious creator and design your own life than live by default.

So this remembrance day, take the time to remember your loved ones and their sacrifice, please. But also remember that others on the so-called ‘opposite’ side will be doing the same with the same conviction. Then remember and think about PEACE and use your immense power as a creative individual to set in motion a mighty peaceful revolution.

For the power lies within us all and I believe it is our duty to use it wisely and for the benefit of all.

With love and peace.

  1. I think so many of us are used to existing in a place of strife and conflict and stress, changing that from the inside is a novel concept and feels weird at first. But, especially for people who struggle with mental illness and addiction, this kind of shift is so very necessary. To change the world, we have to change ourselves – we are all part of the world. Thanks for the inspiring post!

  2. Amazing Gail! Thank you so much. This resonates so deeply. We need to be focused on what we do want, not what we don’t! Thanks for sharing with the insight of how to practically become a transmitter of positivity in the world!

    • Thank you Eric. I totally agree. The world is really full of wonderful, creative and amazing people – if only we could all recognise that within ourselves and others, what an amazing vision we would fulfil. I do honestly believe this will happen but we can’t always count on just 70 years to make it so – in my book at least, it may take a few lifetimes but slow and steady progress is progress none the less. Have an amazing week and thanks for leaving your thoughts. Gail

  3. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful post Gail. I feel that we should all remember people who have lost their lives in war. But not only them but the people that it has affected, such as partners and family. We should not forget that of the effect that it did have on soldiers who did survive war as well.

  4. Thank you Gail! Your message is one of great importance. It is possible to remember and appreciate everyone who made sacrifices in war and at the same time focus on and resonate peace. I love the way you describe focusing on personal peace first and then sending it out to the universe. You are so right in that you can not promote peace or anything positive by spreading an anti message. We need more love, peace, understanding, and acceptance in this world 🙂

    • Thanks for your comment Keli. I totally agree with you which is why I wrote the post. Let’s focus on changing ourselves first and we’ll find that everyone else changes as well. It’s all in our attitude! Have a peaceful week.

  5. This was a great post Gail! I agree that you cannot have peace, or think peace if you think anti-war. I totally agree with that. On remembrance day, of course I like to first of all think of my mother and my son, who both passed away way too early. Then yes, I also like to think of those who lost their lives protecting our country. I have a few dear friends who were in the Vietnam war who are survivors, but the war has taken a toll on them. I like to think about them as well and pray they can find peace.

    • Thank you for your insight and reminders that it is not only the dead that we should remember but all those living in the aftermath of war. I wish you and your family and friends a peaceful week and many more loving moments to come. After all, if we can touch one soul with a kind word or deed, that’s success.

  6. This is an amazing piece you wrote on how to promote peace and get away from the war mind. This is really inspirational and I know so many people will relate to this. I know I will use the deep breathing with all my anger.

    • Thank you Crystal. I hope it helps you to promote peace in your own life. If we start with what we can control in our own sphere of influence, we can move on to the wider world one person at a time. Have a wonderful weekend. Gail

  7. Hi Gail. This is a great post on mindfulness. I just read something today about creating the world we want within our selves through self care, in order to know what the world we want should look and feel like. I think this resonates with that very well.

I will say, I think that there is a way to think about war and still be thinking about peace, and that would be to hope for and transmit peace for the victims of war, such as civilians in war torn countries, or anyone suffering from PTSD. We don’t have to be thinking “I hate war” in order to sympathize or send love and support to those suffering from war. Though really, I guess if there is war anywhere, then we all suffer.

Thanks. You’ve given me a lot to think about. Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day in the US, I will spend some time in meditation & seeking inner peace.
    Leah

    • Thanks Leah. I agree that we can always send empathy and love to anyone no matter their circumstance. Mindfulness, law of attraction and meditation are all ways of taking control of your thoughts, which in turn controls your vibration and the outcomes you get. Have a blessed veterans day and much peace and harmony in your life. Thank you for reading and sharing. Gail
